The ANDON application allows operators to report problems or abnormalities directly from machines and production lines, ensuring a quick response from the relevant people or departments who can solve the problem in a timely manner. This is mostly a report of a technical fault, missing material, quality control, machine adjustment, mold or tool replacement, or consultation with the foreman.
Requests can be entered by pressing the appropriate electrical button or the button on the touch screen of the production terminal. This information is automatically recorded in the database as a new event and sent to the relevant workers, who receive it by SMS, email or by displaying it on a large screen in the office and/or in the production hall. This display may be accompanied by an audible signal and also by the illumination of the relevant beacon light.
In addition to visualizing the line asking for help and the type of request, it is possible to display the time of report origination and duration, including subsequent analysis and reporting of overall response times and event rates.
